March 1972, Marvel Feature #2, Page #14, Ross Andru pencils/Sal Buscema inks, “Nightmare On Bald Mountain!", Roy Thomas, who wrote the Defenders series at the time, appears in this panel page with his wife, Jeanie Thomas, and the organizer of the Rutland Vermont Parade, Tom Fagan. Tom Fagan is seen explaining to Roy Thomas and his wife about the strange red glow on Bald Mountain. (The unexplained red glow actually occurred on Bald Mountain in 1937, and again in 1959; the mountain is also reputed to be haunted). In the comic, the glow was actually formed as Dormammu was being awakened in a ceremony at Bald Mountain. In the story, Roy goes to Rutland Vermont to help Tom Fagan prepare the floats for the 12th Annual Rutland Vermont Halloween Parade. We see in the first panel two policemen talking about the Hulk as he crushed a car on his way to Bald Mountain. On the second panel, we see many people dressed as superheroes for the Halloween Parade - Thor, Quicksilver, Valkyrie, Iron Man, Captain America, and Medusa! On the bottom right of the large panel, is Thor talking to Batman!
